VAMRR
Bradley University is partnered with the University of Dayton Research Institute to create virtual, augmented, and extended reality tools that support the U.S. Air Force utilizing robotics controls.
I supported the development of these tools as a UX Student Intern with Bradley University’s Department of Interactive Media.
My Tasks
Discovery and Research
I researched existing technology and design patterns related to the project. I would present my findings to discuss how to incorporate these best practices found through this research.
User Testing
I conducted user testing sessions to collect qualitative data about the design and usability of the tools. I assisted in planning these sessions by creating tasks lists, scripts, and QAing the prototype.
I would moderate or take notes during the session to review later.
Afterwards, I would discuss trends and offer recommendations with the rest of the design team.
Visual Design
Throughout my internship, I also designed icons, screens, and documents such as printed panels or booklets. Occasionally, I had to assemble the printed assets by cutting and pasting them together.
To complete these designs, I spent extensive time in Figma or Adobe Illustrator. I made sure to follow our branding guide to ensure the visual design was cohesive across the entire project.
Note: Due to contractual obligations with the United States Air Force, I cannot provide any further details about this project.
